Sad news this month that there is no more funding to run our popular J2E courses.

The programme was run on a trial basis for a year, and although successful is due to finish at the end of June.

Breakthrough will still facilitate the peer group sessions, to support people on existing courses to continue to meet up and plan activities.

Community Engagement Specialist for J2E Rhonda McPahil said: “The feedback we have received has been so positive. One lady who attends said that the peer group had literally been a life saver for her and that if she couldn’t come here she would still just be sitting in her house.

“Since she has been coming, she’s not only started doing her Level 2 Maths and English, but also enrolled on a number of Getting Ready for Work courses for Adult Health and Social Care. She’s also encouraged some of the others in the group to join her.”
