Salary: £22,071.21 per annum
The post is based in North Manchester and nearby neighbourhoods of Bury and Rochdale
Breakthrough UK, a leading disabled people’s organisation based in North Manchester, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and resourceful individual to join our team as a Community Connector.
You will deliver our ‘Having A Good Week’, Community Connecting service in the North Manchester area, and will work with disabled people to improve their independent living skills.
You will work with individuals on their journey towards independence and inclusion by using a person centred approach to identify goals, skills, interests and aspirations. You will liaise with organisations, services and activities in the neighbourhoods to advocate and support individuals to connect into activities and opportunities. You will support individuals to evaluate and record their journey.
Applicants will be able to demonstrate skills to support individuals in an empowering and person centred way. You will have a strong personal commitment to equality, social justice and inclusion and an understanding of disabling barriers in society.
You will be resourceful and able to work effectively on your own initiative and as a team member contributing to achievement of shared goals as well as individual targets. You will recruit and support volunteers and facilitate group sessions as appropriate.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.

Vacancy for Employment Support Officer
Salary: £23,571 per annum
The post is based in North Manchester
Breakthrough UK, a leading disabled peoples user led organisation, is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and resourceful individual to join our team as an Employment Support Officer.
You will build and maintain effective rapport with your caseload of clients, other relevant services or support providers and employers. You will have a positive attitude and a passion to support each of your clients to achieve measurable outcomes on their journey towards employment and independence. You will use your exceptional planning and organisational skills to work creatively and flexibly to ensure that all clients access the right support from a range of resources and providers, encouraging and guiding them on their journey to employment.
You will have a strong personal commitment to equality, social justice and inclusion and an understanding or experience of disabling barriers in employment and society. You will be resourceful and able to work effectively on your own initiative and as a team member contributing to achievement of shared goals as well as individual targets.
Ideally, applicants will be experienced in a Job Coach role and be able to support clients to achieve and sustain paid employment.
Experience of working with Disabled People would be advantageous.
