Youth Choices – employment focused support for south Manchester’s young people

We’re here for any disabled young person aged 18 to 25 years old, who’s on the hunt for work but feeling a bit of support would be beneficial.

Youth Choices is next running at the Millennium Powerhouse, starting Tuesday 30th July 1pm at the Millennium Powerhouse, 140 Raby St, Manchester M14 4SL.

Three hour session on general pre-employment topics, such as CVs, interviews, behaviour in the workplace.

We’re also including sessions on motivation, self confidence and self belief.

The programme includes visits to businesses as part of a world of work experience, plus mock interviews held by real employers within their organisations.

The Youth Choices project lasts for three months, and was designed jointly with young people themselves at a co-design meeting last year. There, the group discussed elements that would work best for them.

The project kick started with a social activity, where a group of participants went bowling together, to get to know each other before the course started.

Are you a local business that could support Youth Choices?

Could you host some mock interviews and /or a tour of your workplace for the Youth Choices project?

By working with disabled young people to improve their employment chances, we can improve mental health and wellbeing.
